Eli thinks he's pretty big and is too good to just lounge in the bouncer anymore. He sits up in it!
Add that he rolls to his side all the time and suddenly the bouncer wasn't quite so safe. So we got out the high chair. And while we were in the basement Ember discovered the exer-saucer and brought that up too. He's still a little wobbly standing by himself but his neck control is amazing!
The pediatrician told me 2-4 months is hand discovery time, and it certainly has been. Eli LOVES to suck on his fists, fingers, and anything he manages to grab (burp cloths and sisters' hair mostly). It's a challenge to keep him swaddled now because he wants to suck on his hands as he's falling asleep but they keep moving and waking him up. It's a love/hate relationship right now. :)
Just tonight (so technically he's 3 months and 2 days) Eli purposely touched and held onto the toys on his crib gym! He was so happy sucking on one hand and feeling the toys with his other hand!
He also managed to grab his toes tonight! So stinkin' cute!!! He's been eying those toes for a few days now, and I imagine getting them to his mouth is next on his list.
Eli is so smiley and will smile at people at church until they smile back. He smiles like crazy at me when he's in the bouncer or high chair and wants to be picked up. It's pretty hard to resist!
He also has a voice and knows how to use it. He gets especially vocal when he's tired (sweet "talking" coos) and it's fun to hear (and a very nice way to tell me he's tired). He has the loudest yawns and it's a bit embarrassing (and quite comical) when he does them in the middle of the Sunday school lesson!
Brett has been trying to get Eli to laugh for quite some time and you can tell he wants to! He's managed a few chuckles, but I got to hear some definite laughs as Brett played with him tonight. Adorable!
Can you tell we are completely in love with this baby boy? He is such a joy, and we are all so happy he's in our family.
(Even if his 10 hour sleep stretch was an anomaly and he wakes up at least once a night.)
