Emmy's Valentine Box

Emmy got to make her first Valentine box this year. She came home last Friday planning to make a unicorn which I thought sounded ambitious. Then Daddy mentioned that maybe a minion would be fun next year. Emmy decided a minion would be fun THIS year. And so this:

With a mouth that opens to accept valentines. 

We started the paper mâché on Sunday evening but then we were so busy on Monday and Tuesday that I ended up doing the next two layers after Emmy was in bed. She really wanted this to be HER project so she was a little frustrated. Brett sketched the face and clothes Wednesday night before a one day (22 hours awake) business trip. Emmy painted it all except the eyes. That was my artistic contribution. :)

Emmy is so proud and said a lot of kids really liked it and commented about it at school (including Sam who kissed her on the elbow and asked if she was married last week). Success, right?
