The girls got it in their heads this afternoon that they need to earn money to buy me a Mother's Day present. They came to me begging for chores to do that could earn some money. At first, I was feeling a little silly paying for my own present. But then I realized I'm getting two presents out of this deal: a clean house and a gift!
I made them dust, pick up all the floors, and vacuum all the carpet in the house.
That earned them $3, and they were thrilled. Great deal, if you ask me! (I did give them a tip because they really did a fantastic job, and the new carpet in our family room is so thick that it's a nightmare to vacuum. They earned it.)
